Chapter 59 - Showdown on the Leviathan

The storm reached its crescendo as Caleb, accompanied by Evelyn and a dozen federal marshals led by Chairman Harold, boarded the sovereign gangway of the *Leviathan* under the roaring spotlights of the surrounding armada.

Dozens of commercial tugs had pinned the mega-vessel’s rudder, pushing against its massive steel hull with millions of horsepower of diesel torque. The *Leviathan* could not move an inch without running aground on the diamond reefs.

Caleb kicked open the heavy double doors of the flagship's grand observation salon.

Lord Lucian Drake stood alone by the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, an untouched glass of vintage cognac in his hand. The aristocratic composure had vanished; his tailored hair was disheveled, and his eyes burned with frantic, cornered fury.

"Pirates!" Drake snarled, slamming his glass onto the glass table, shattering it into fragments. "You dare surround a sovereign vessel? Caleb Vance, you are committing an act of war against the European Maritime Council! I will have you hanged in the Hague!"

"The Hague doesn't have jurisdiction over domestic grand larceny, Drake," Caleb said calmly, walking forward until he stood just ten feet from the billionaire predator.

Caleb tossed a thick, waterproof binder onto the center table.

"What is this trash?" Drake hissed.

"That is the complete telemetry of the sea-chests on decks four and seven of this ship," Caleb said, his voice ringing with absolute finality. "Designed and built by Eleanor Vance in Gdańsk. She didn't just build this ship for you, Drake. She built an automated scuttling protocol directly into the primary cooling manifold."

Drake’s face drained of all color. "She... she wouldn't."

"Try starting your engines," Evelyn said, stepping up beside Caleb, her voice steady and razor-sharp. "The moment your chief engineer touches the auxiliary turbines, twenty thousand tons of Atlantic seawater will flood your lower cargo holds, sinking your four billion dollars in stolen bullion straight into the mud of New York Harbor."

Drake trembled, his hand reaching instinctively for the silver sovereign ring on his finger. "You're bluffing. You wouldn't risk destroying this ship. You wouldn't risk the Vance name!"

"The Vance name was forged in sacrifice, Drake," Caleb answered coldly. "My mother gave up her youth, her country, and her peace to protect this family from monsters like you. Julian thought he was an emperor; you thought you were a god. But out on these waters, you are nothing but a thief caught in the net."

Federal marshals stepped forward, their badges gleaming under the salon lights.

"Lord Lucian Drake," Chairman Harold proclaimed, his voice trembling with newfound authority. "By order of the United States Maritime Commission and the Department of Justice, you are under arrest for corporate espionage, international racketeering, and attempted kidnapping."

Two marshals pinned Drake's arms behind his back, snapping heavy steel cuffs over his wrists. For the first time in forty years, the arrogant smirk was stripped from the tyrant's face, replaced by the hollow terror of total defeat.
