Chapter 19 - The Dawn of a New Dynasty

Spring returned to Lake Como, bringing with it an explosion of wisteria, blooming rhododendrons, and the sparkling turquoise waters reflecting the azure sky.

The wedding of Francesca Moretti and Count Julian Rossi was not an ostentatious celebrity spectacle. It was an intimate, sacred gathering at the small 12th-century chapel overlooking the lake, attended only by their closest friends, Marco, the team from Studio Moretti, and the two children who were the center of Anna’s universe.

Ethan had proudly served as Julian’s best man, standing tall beside the groom, while little Sophie, dressed in a cloud of white tulle, threw rose petals along the ancient stone path.

When Anna walked down the aisle, wearing a flowing, understated silk gown that she had designed herself, Julian’s eyes filled with tears. For a man who commanded billions and moved through European aristocracy with untouchable poise, in that moment, he looked completely humbled by the woman walking toward him.

They exchanged their vows beneath the historic stone arches, promising truth, mutual reverence, and unconditional love. When Julian slipped the sapphire band onto Anna’s finger and kissed her beneath the applause of their loved ones, Dante barked joyfully from the back pew, eliciting laughter from the congregation.

That afternoon, a private celebration unfolded on the sun-drenched lawns of Villa Bellinzona. Ethan and Sophie ran across the grass, their laughter ringing like music against the mountain slopes. Julian’s arm rested comfortably around Anna’s waist as they watched their children play.

"Jason was released from the psychiatric facility yesterday," Marco mentioned quietly, stepping up beside Anna with a glass of champagne. "He has signed a non-disclosure agreement and agreed to an out-of-court settlement. He is moving to an obscure town in Ohio, living off a modest stipend administered by a third-party trust. He will never approach your family again."

Anna took a sip of her champagne, feeling not a single flicker of malice, triumph, or regret. "I wish him peace, Marco. Truly. He no longer exists in my story."

Julian kissed her temple tenderly. "Your story is just beginning, my Countess."
