Chapter 69 - The Sovereign Coalition

Three days later, the Vance Logistics main terminal on 4th Avenue was buzzing with unprecedented life. The freight yard was operating at full capacity, with long lines of diesel locomotives gleaming under the afternoon sun, adorned with the restored Vance crest.
Inside the executive boardroom, the atmosphere was completely transformed. The corporate raiders, the corrupt auditors, and the shadows of Eleanor’s conspirators were gone. In their place sat Arthur’s loyal dispatchers, Frank Reynolds, and the newly appointed regulatory directors who had aligned with our lawful operations.
David sat at the head of the long oak table, dressed in a clean, sharp suit, looking every bit the sovereign leader he was born to be—not because of his Sterling bloodline, but because of his unwavering Vance heart.
"All shadow contracts in the Gulf have been formally terminated," I announced, closing the master ledger on my tablet. "We have redistributed eighty percent of the Sterling maritime freight volume into domestic American rail networks. Every single terminal employee who stood by us during the siege has been awarded equity shares in the reformed Vance Corporation."
The room erupted into applause and cheers. Frank slammed his coffee mug onto the table with a wide, toothy grin. "Arthur would be damn proud, kids. Damn proud."
David raised a hand, smiling warmly at the assembled room. "This company was built on steel, sweat, and trust. We survived an empire that thought it could buy our souls. From this day forward, Vance Logistics answers to no hidden masters."
After the meeting adjourned, David and I walked out onto the private observation balcony overlooking the bustling rail yard. The Cumberland River wound gracefully through the valley, carrying our barges peacefully toward the horizon.
"We did it, Sarah," David said softly, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "We actually won."

"We did," I smiled, leaning my head against his shoulder. "The family is safe, David. It's finally over."
