Chapter 48 - The Midnight Raid

With less than ninety minutes until the midnight deadline, the Geneva chalet shifted from a peaceful alpine sanctuary into a high-security tactical command center. Adrien was on the phone with our international legal team in Zurich, drafting an emergency injunction to block Victor’s contingency clause, while our private security detail prepared the armored convoy for an immediate, preemptive strike against Victor’s physical coordinates. "We can't just wait for him to make the next move," I said, slipping on a sleek black wool coat and securing the cryptographic token around my neck. "If we hit his primary server farm in the heart of Zurich before midnight, we can nullify the contingency clause at the source." Adrien caught my wrist as I turned toward the exit, his eyes searching mine with a mixture of deep adoration and fierce protective instinct. "It's a trap, Eleanor. Victor wants us to come to him," he warned. "Then we’ll walk right into it," I replied, a fierce, unbreakable smile touching my lips. "My mother didn't build this empire for us to cower in a chalet." Within twenty minutes, our convoy tore down the winding mountain roads, cutting through the freezing alpine night toward the glittering lights of Zurich. The city was quiet, its snow-dusted streets deserted as our vehicles sped toward a nondescript brutalist skyscraper bearing no corporate insignia—the true nerve center of the Sovereign Consortium.
