Chapter 5 - THE STAKEHOLDER'S WARNING

By noon, the federal courthouse in Lower Manhattan was surrounded by federal marshals and international press.
Naomi Carter Park walked down the grand stone steps of the courthouse, flanked by two of Blackstone Meridian’s elite corporate attorneys. In her hand, she held the stamped, signed emergency injunction freezing every offshore asset, shell company, and hidden bank account linked to the Hong Kong syndicate’s American laundering operations.
As soon as she appeared, a wall of microphones and cameras rushed forward.
"Mrs. Park! Mrs. Park! Is it true that Blackstone Meridian has uncovered a massive international money laundering ring tied to the Vale Urban collapse?" shouted a reporter from the *Wall Street Journal*.
Naomi stopped at the top of the steps, adjusting her sunglasses. She looked directly into the primary camera lens, her voice steady, clear, and uncompromising.
"Blackstone Meridian Technologies operates strictly within the bounds of domestic and international law," Naomi announced to the press corps. "We discovered that certain malicious actors were attempting to weaponize American real estate to launder illicit capital. Today, with the cooperation of federal authorities, those assets have been seized and frozen permanently. To anyone attempting to threaten the integrity of our financial ecosystem: New York is closed to criminals."
The clip went viral instantly across Facebook, Twitter, and financial news networks worldwide.
Inside a black tinted Mercedes idling three blocks away from the courthouse, a man with a scarred cheek and cold, dead eyes watched the live broadcast on a secure tablet.
His name was Master Chen—an enforcer and financial auditor dispatched directly from Hong Kong by the Sun Yee On syndicate to clean up the Vale mess.
Chen slowly lowered the tablet. He turned to the driver, speaking in fluent Cantonese.
"The woman is arrogant," Chen murmured. "She thinks a piece of paper from an American judge stops men who control the ports of Asia."
"What are your orders, Master Chen?" the driver asked. "Do we hit the lawyer?"
Chen stared out the tinted window at the courthouse steps where Naomi was stepping into a black armored SUV. A dark, sadistic smile crossed his lips.
"No. Hitting her in broad daylight draws too much federal heat," Chen replied slowly. "Instead, we pay a visit to her husband’s precious corporate headquarters. Let’s remind Daniel Park that money on a screen can be erased with a single blade."
Thirty minutes later, on the forty-ninth floor of Blackstone Meridian Tower, the security alarms suddenly wailed across the entire floor.
At Daniel’s desk, the red warning lights flashed furiously.
Kang sprinted into the office, his earpiece glowing blue. "Sir! We have a perimeter breach on the underground loading dock. Three unknown individuals bypassed biometric scanners using high-grade military override codes."
Daniel didn't panic. He stood up slowly, pressing a button on his desk intercom. "Eric. To the security command center. We have uninvited guests."
"On my way," Eric’s voice crackled back over the comms. "I was hoping they'd show up before lunch."
Daniel turned to Naomi, who had just walked back into the office from her courthouse triumph. Her expression instantly shifted from professional victory to combat readiness.
"They're here," Naomi said quietly.
"Stay behind the reinforced glass in the panic suite," Daniel instructed, his voice leaving no room for argument.
Naomi stepped up to him, touching his chest. "I'm not hiding, Daniel. We built this together. We face it together."
Daniel looked into her fierce, unyielding eyes. A rare, deep smile touched his lips. He reached into his desk drawer, pulling out a sleek, heavy tactical keycard and handing it to her. "If they breach this room, use the terminal to lock down the entire tower's structural bulkheads. But trust me... they won't get past my brother."
Down on the sub-level parking garage, the heavy concrete doors groaned under a sudden, violent explosion.
Smoke billowed across the industrial lighting. Through the haze, Master Chen and four heavily armed enforcers stepped out of the shadows, weapons drawn, ready to deliver a bloody message to the Korean mafia CEO.
They didn't expect Eric Park to be waiting for them, leaning against a concrete pillar with a suppressed tactical submachine gun resting casually across his shoulder.

"Welcome to New York, gentlemen," Eric smiled, the muzzle of his gun leveling directly at Chen’s chest. "Did you bring your passports? Because you're going to need them for the trip back to the morgue."
