Chapter 4 - THE BROTHERLY ALLIANCE

The private elevator of the Blackstone Meridian headquarters chimed with a crisp, polite tone.
Daniel sat behind his massive mahogany desk, reviewing the final asset allocation reports of the former Vale properties. Naomi sat across from him on a white leather sofa, going over compliance filings for the municipal contracts they had just inherited.
The door swung open without a knock.
"Well, well, well," a smooth, slightly mocking voice echoed across the expansive office. "If it isn't the corporate power couple of the century. I turn my back for two months to clean up a messy logistics route in Singapore, and you two decide to start a hostile takeover war on national television."
Daniel didn't even look up from his tablet. "Eric. Close the door before you let the New York air in."
Eric Park strolled into the office like he owned it—which, technically, as a senior partner in Blackstone Meridian, he nearly did. He wore a tailored black suit identical in cut to Daniel’s, though his tie was slightly looser, giving him a distinctly more dangerous, rebellious aura.
Naomi looked up, smiling as Eric leaned down to press a polite kiss on her cheek.
"Hello, Eric. I see you managed to survive Singapore without causing an international incident," Naomi remarked dryly.
"I resent that allegation, sister-in-law," Eric grinned, pulling up a chair and sitting down uninvited. "The incident in Singapore was entirely self-defense. And besides, I brought gifts."
Eric tossed a heavy, encrypted titanium flash drive onto Daniel’s desk. It skidded across the polished wood and stopped right against Daniel’s laptop.
Daniel finally looked up, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. "What is this?"
"That, big brother, is the real reason Harrison Vale was so desperately trying to secure Atlas," Eric’s voice lost its playful edge, turning cold and professional. "It wasn't just about real estate speculation or predicting falling property values. Harrison was the primary American laundering node for the Sun Yee On syndicate out of Hong Kong."
Naomi sat up straight, dropping her tablet onto the sofa. "Laundering? Are you certain?"
"100% certain," Eric nodded, leaning back and crossing his legs. "Uncle Choi’s intelligence network and my people in Singapore traced the wire transfers. Over the last four years, Harrison funneled nearly two billion dollars of illicit capital through Vale Urban shell companies, buying up prime Manhattan commercial real estate to clean the money."
Daniel picked up the titanium drive, turning it over in his hand. The air in the office dropped ten degrees.
"And when we liquidated Vale Urban," Daniel said slowly, his voice dangerously quiet, "we didn't just bankrupt a arrogant billionaire. We accidentally locked down two billion dollars belonging to some of the most dangerous triads in Asia."
"Bingo," Eric smiled grimly. "Which means right about now, some very unhappy men in Hong Kong are looking at their frozen ledgers, wondering who ruined their operation. And their primary suspect is sitting right here in this office."
Naomi walked over to the desk, standing beside Daniel. She placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling the coiled tension in his muscles.
"They'll come to New York," Naomi stated, her legal mind immediately calculating the threat. "They won't use courts. They won't file motions. They'll try to retrieve their assets through intimidation, violence, or worse."
"Let them come," Eric said, standing up and buttoning his jacket. "My security teams from Singapore landed at JFK an hour ago. We've got safehouses secured, encrypted comms active, and half the local port authority in our pocket. If the triads want a war in New York, we’ll show them how business is done in Busan."
Daniel stood up, towering over his younger brother. His face was a mask of cold fury—not because he was afraid, but because someone had threatened his family.
"No," Daniel said firmly. "We aren't going to wait for them to make the first move in our streets."
Eric raised an eyebrow. "What do you propose, big brother?"
"We take the fight to their financial roots," Daniel replied, handing the titanium drive back to Naomi. "Naomi, draft an emergency federal asset forfeiture filing using the anti-money laundering evidence Eric provided. Tie their entire New York, London, and Cayman portfolio directly to the DOJ’s organized crime division before the sun sets."
Naomi took the drive, a fierce, brilliant smile lighting up her face. "With pleasure, CEO Park. I’ll have the papers on the federal judge's desk by noon."
Eric let out a low whistle, shaking his head. "Remind me never to piss you off, Naomi. You and my brother are terrifying together."
May you like
"Go check the perimeter security with Kang," Daniel instructed Eric coldly. "If anyone from Hong Kong lands in Manhattan, I want to know before their plane touches the tarmac."
