Chapter 10 - Epilogue: A New Dawn

Six months later.
The morning sun over the Puget Sound was brilliant, casting sparkling diamonds across the deep blue water.
Naomi Carter stepped out onto the balcony of the newly renovated penthouse, holding a mug of steaming coffee. The shattered glass was long gone, replaced by reinforced floor-to-ceiling windows that offered an unobstructed view of the Seattle ferry boats gliding across the bay.
Her life had changed, but she hadn't lost herself in the process. She still worked two days a week at the rehabilitation clinic on First Hill—because helping people was who she was. She still checked in on her brother Leo every Sunday.
And Daniel?
Warm arms wrapped around her waist from behind, resting comfortably against her stomach. A familiar, cedar-and-rain scent filled her senses as Daniel buried his face in the crook of her neck, pressing a soft, lingering kiss against her skin.
“You’re up early,” Daniel murmured, his voice rich and relaxed.
“Couldn't sleep,” Naomi smiled, leaning back against his broad chest. She looked down at her right hand. Resting on her ring finger was a simple, elegant platinum band, unpretentious and strong.
“Thinking about quitting your nursing job again?” he teased gently.
“Never,” Naomi laughed, turning around in his embrace and wrapping her arms around his neck. “Someone has to keep you grounded, Mr. Han. Otherwise, you might start thinking you actually own the city.”
Daniel smiled—a genuine, warm smile that reached his dark eyes, erasing the ghosts of his past. He tightened his grip around her, lifting her slightly off her feet as she laughed.

“I don't own the city, Naomi,” Daniel whispered against her lips, kissing her softly. “I just own the only part of it that ever mattered.”
And for the first time in his life, the dragon didn't need to cage his treasure, because she had chosen to stay—not out of fear, but out of a love so fierce it had tamed them both.
