Chapter 8 - The Fall of Olivia Bennett

That evening, the drama reached its boiling point at *L’Aura*, the most exclusive rooftop restaurant in the city’s financial district.
Olivia Bennett had thought she could weather the storm. She had negotiated a tentative cooperation agreement with federal prosecutors and believed she could quietly slip back into her social circle, casting Daniel as the sole villain while preserving her boutique PR firm.
She was wrong.
According to witnesses, Daniel tracked her down there. He arrived disheveled, wearing an ill-fitting trench coat over wrinkled clothes, having bypassed building security by following a delivery driver through the service entrance.
The restaurant was packed with influential executives and patrons when Daniel stormed into the dining room, his face red, his eyes wild.
"Olivia!" his voice cracked across the ambient jazz music, silencing the clinking silverware.
Olivia, seated at a corner booth with two prospective corporate clients, went rigid. "Daniel? What are you doing here? You can't be here—get away from me!"
"You sold me out!" Daniel yelled, lunging toward her table. Waiters rushed forward, but Daniel knocked over a champagne ice bucket, sending glass and water crashing onto the hardwood floor. "You took sixty percent of the kickback money! You told me how to structure the shell company! And then you went to the feds and gave them my emails?"
"You’re insane!" Olivia shrieked, backing into the plush leather booth, her designer purse clutched to her chest. "Get this maniac out of here! Call the police!"
"I gave up my family for you!" Daniel screamed, tears of rage and humiliation streaming down his cheeks. "I had a wife who loved me! I had a daughter on the way! I had a company with my name on the building! And you turned me into this! You used me, and then you threw me away like garbage!"
"You threw yourself away, Daniel!" Olivia spat back, her aristocratic veneer cracking into ugly, vicious desperation. "You were weak! You wanted to play the big man, but you didn't have the brains to back it up! You think I loved you? You were an arrogant, pathetic little man who was stupid enough to put his own signature on the fraud documents while keeping mine clean! You destroyed yourself!"
The entire restaurant watched in stunned, recording-with-smartphones silence as the truth spilled out in raw, unfiltered venom.
Two security guards finally tackled Daniel to the ground, pinning his arms behind his back. As they dragged him toward the service elevator, Daniel caught his own reflection in the mirrored wall of the restaurant: a broken, disgraced man who had traded honor, fatherhood, and true devotion for a mirage that had vanished into thin air.
Outside, the flashing lights of police cruisers arrived. Daniel was arrested for felony stalking, criminal trespass, and violation of his bail terms.
Olivia didn't escape either. Her prospective clients walked out without saying a word, leaving her alone in the wreckage of the dining room. Within an hour, videos of the confrontation flooded the internet. By midnight, three of her largest corporate accounts issued statements terminating their contracts with Bennett Public Relations immediately.
