Chapter 10 - A New Dawn (Open Ending with a Happy Resolution)

The sun rose over Baltimore Harbor the following spring, painting the sky in breathtaking strokes of amber, violet, and gold.
Inside the newly expanded headquarters of Ellison-Hail Enterprises, the office was quiet before the morning rush began.
Mara stood by her corner office window, looking out over the bustling city streets below. Down on the corner, families were walking toward the community park she had designed, children laughing as they played near the fountains, students heading into the newly opened vocational training center funded by her foundation.
The intercom on her desk buzzed softly.
"Mara?" Adrian’s voice came through the speaker. "The board meeting is in ten minutes. Are you ready?"
Mara smiled, turning away from the window and picking up her tablet and a gold-plated pen.
"Always," she answered clearly.
She walked out of her office, stepping into the bright, sunlit hallway. As she walked toward the elevators, she passed a large bronze plaque mounted on the wall near the executive entrance—a plaque bearing the company’s history, honoring its founders, its vision, and its unbreakable core values.
At the very top, engraved in bold, elegant letters that would stand the test of time, was a single name:
May you like
*Mara Ellison Hail.*
She paused for a fraction of a second, running her fingers lightly over the cool bronze letters. Then, with a confident smile, she turned and stepped into the elevator as the doors slid open to reveal a bright, limitless horizon waiting just for her.
